11 Area Teams Highlight Feb. 16 KBCA Rankings

Feb. 16 KBCA – Rankings

Just two full weeks remain in the high school basketball regular season and Tuesday the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association released the latest rankings featuring 11 local teams.

In Class 3A on the girl’s side the rankings continue to be dominated by the Big 7 League with three teams ranked led by Sabetha who is third, followed by Nemaha Central fourth and Royal Valley ninth.

The 2A rankings continues to hold just one team this week as the Valley Heights Mustangs are ranked third with just one loss this season.

In 1A-DI three local teams continue to be ranked as Jackson Heights remains at No. 2 this week while Frankfort is right behind in third and Doniphan West ninth.

The girl’s rankings are rounded out in 1A-DII featuring just one local team as Wetmore checks in this week at No. 9.

On the boy’s side the Royal Valley Panthers continue to be ranked in Class 3A after a solid win over Nemaha Central last Friday and check in this week ranked eighth.

In the 2A rankings two teams are ranked this week with Valley Falls at No. 9 while Jeff County North is into the rankings at ten.

The final ranked area team comes in 1A-DI with the Frankfort Wildcats ranked tenth this week.
