12 Area Athletes Highlight Feb. 16 KWCA Rankings

Feb. 16 KWCA Rankings – 4A, 321A, Girls D-II

Postseason wrestling continued over the weekend with sub-state berths on the line and with that the latest Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association rankings have been released featuring 12 local athletes.

In Class 4A the Holton Wildcats still have two guys alive and both are ranked as Jake Barnes is the fifth-ranked wrestler at 120 pounds while Konnor Tannahill is the top-ranked wrestler at 195.

Perry Lecompton adds two more ranked wrestlers this week with Thad Metcalfe the No. 5-ranked wrestler at 160 pounds while Hayden Robb is ranked first at 285.

In the 321A classification just three guys are ranked this week including two at 132 pounds with ACCHS’ Mason Scholz second while Conner Hayes is fourth.

The final ranked wrestler comes at 160 pounds as Sabetha’s Kaden Dillon is the third-ranked wrestler in the state.

On the girl’s side five local wrestlers remain ranked this week as Holton’s Macey Gross is ranked fourth at 126 pounds along with Royal Valley’s Maya Ogden second at 138.

Oskaloosa’s Allison King is the fifth-ranked wrestler at 155 pounds while ACCHS’ Tannah Forbes is second at 191 and Sabetha’s Kylie Meredith second at 235.
