10 Area Teams Highlight Final KBCA Rankings for 2021

It is the final full week of the high school basketball regular season with Class 1A teams beginning sub-state play on Thursday and with that the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association released the final state rankings of the season featuring 10 local teams.

In Class 3A the girl’s rankings remain dominated by the Big 7 League with Sabetha continuing to be ranked third this week while Nemaha Central is fourth.

In Class 2A the Valley Heights girls are ranked third again this week as they continue to roll along this season with a 15-1 record.

Three local teams are ranked this week in 1A-Division I, as Jackson Heights is second, Frankfort fourth and Doniphan West seventh.

The final ranked girls’ team comes in 1A-DII as the Wetmore Cardinals continue to be ranked ninth.

On the boy’s side of the rankings the Royal Valley Panthers continue to lead the way in Class 3A ranked seventh after wrapping up a Big 7 League title over the weekend.

The final two ranked teams come in Class 2A as the Jeff County North Chargers are eighth while Valley Falls comes in tenth.
