Former Holton Wildcat Ashtin Meerpohl Enjoying Sweet 16 Run on Oral Roberts Athletic Staff

From Holton to the University of Kansas and now the NCAA Tournament with Oral Roberts, Ashtin Meerpohl is representing Northeast Kansas and enjoying the Cinderella run for Golden Eagles who are into the Sweet 16.

Meerpohl serves as the Assistant Director of Sports Performance in the Oral Roberts Athletic Department and oversees all aspects of sports performance for the men’s basketball, volleyball and both men’s and women’s golf teams.

He joined the Golden Eagles in 2018 after 10 months as the Sports Performance Assistant at the University of Kansas, where he oversaw the and implementation of sport-specific training programs for women’s rowing and spirit squad.

He also assisted with eight other athletic teams including, men’s and women’s basketball, volleyball, baseball, soccer, softball, swimming, and golf.

Meerpohl was also the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for Football at Southwest Minnesota State University prior to his stint at Kansas where he oversaw all aspects of the football program.

He was also a part of The Ohio State University where he worked with the football team that won the 2016 Fiesta Bowl Championship.

In 2015 he earned his B.S.E in Community Health from the University of Kansas and is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Functional Range Conditioning Mobility Specialist and is Adult First Aid/CPR/AED Certified.

Now he is enjoying the Sweet 16 run with Oral Roberts after the Golden Eagles upset 2-seed Ohio State in the first round and then took down Florida in the second round.

Meerpohl will continue to assist the men’s basketball team during their NCAA Tournament run as the Golden Eagles are set to face Arkansas in the Sweet 16 on Saturday with tip off scheduled for 6:25 and live coverage on TBS.
