Area Track Teams Compete at Nemaha Central Invite

Nemaha Central Invitational – Results

Area track teams were in action Tuesday night at the Nemaha Central Invitational, and it was the host Thunder who had the best finish of area teams taking second on the girls’ and boys’ sides.

The Thunder took second despite just one first place finish from Hailey Nordus who won the 400-meter dash.

Sabetha took third place behind four first place finishes led by Hattie Lukert who won the 1600 and 3200-meter runs while Mary Lukert won the 300-meter hurdles and Olivia Saner the pole vault.

Valley Heights added three event wins from Emma Yungerberg who won the javelin, shot put and discus.

Royal Valley’s Ivy Fink rounded out the girl’s side of top area finishes as she captured the high jump.

On the boy’s side Nemaha Central took second behind four wins with Slade Uselton claiming the 300-meter hurdles while Nathan Deters won the shot put along with the discus and Dylan Lortscher the high jump.

Royal Valley added a pair of wins with Coliin Everts winning the 400-meter dash along with Antonio Greemore-Hopkins winning the 3200-meter run and Luke Boyden the pole vault.

Sabetha and Axtell each added single event winners on the day as the Bluejays 4 by 100-meter relay team took first along with the Eagles 4 by 800-meter relay.

Valley Heights rounded out the meet with a win by Carter Beardsley in the triple jump.
