Kpreps Week One Football – Rankings

Week one of the high school football season is here and the first set of preseason rankings have been released by kpreps.com.

The Holton Wildcats are set to start the season off ranked fifth in Class 3A after going 9-2 a year ago before falling to league foe Perry Lecompton in the sub-state round of the playoffs.

In Class 2A the Nemaha Central Thunder start the season off ranked third behind the perennial powers Rossville and Silver Lake. The Thunder went 8-3 last season before falling to eventual state champion Rossville in the state semifinals setting up a big matchup in week one against Holton.

The Class 1A rankings feature another area team as perennial power Centralia is ranked fifth in the preseason rankings following a 9-2 season a year ago.

The final ranked area team comes in 8-man DII as the Hanover Wildcats are the top overall team following a perfect 11-0 season last year where they captured a sixth state championship for head coach Matt Heuer.

Week one of the season shapes up to be exciting and we will get you set with our Friday Night Fever Show sponsored by GN Banks coming up Friday night at 6 pm on the MSC Sports Radio Network.
