Volleyball Recap From Tuesday Night

The Volleyball season is in full swing as teams from the Twin Valley League, Big 7 and Northeast Kansas League were in action on Tuesday night. 

Twin Valley League

Valley Heights improves to 4-2 overall and 2-0 in TVL play with wins over Wetmore (25-13, 25-15) and Frankfort (25-14, 25-10). 

Doniphan West started their season 2-0 with victories Linn (25-14, 26-24) and Clifton Clyde (25-16, 25-10). 

Washington County earned two set victories over Onaga (25-9, 25-12) and Axtell (25-12, 25-16). 

Big 7 

Sabetha hosted Perry-Lecompton and Riverside with Perry-Lecompton finishing 2-0. The Kaws defeated Riverside in their first match up 25-13 and 25-12. Perry-Lecompton would close out the night with a thrilling three set victory over Sabetha 21-25, 27-25 and 25-19. Riverside finished the night 0-2. 

Hiawatha started the season strong with a solid win over ranked Nemaha Central 25-14 and 25-23. They also defeated Royal Valley in straight sets 25-19 and 28-26. Nemaha Central picked up their lone win on the night against Royal Valley 25-22 and 25-16. 

Northeast Kansas League

ACCHS hosted a Triangular with Horton and Valley Falls. ACCHS went 2-0 with straight set victories over Horton (25-19, 25-17) and Valley Falls (27-25, 25-18). Valley Falls went 1-1 with their win coming against Horton in three sets (22-25, 25-16, 25-15).

Jefferson County North defeated Maur-Hill and Pleasant Ridge. The victory over Maur-Hill was earned in three sets 21-25, 25-20, 25-10. JCN swept Pleasant Ridge in two sets. Pleasant Ridge earned a win over Maur-Hill 25-23, 25-22.
