Wild Night of Volleyball in TVL Shake Up Standings
By Brandon Tadtman

The end of the regular season is approaching and teams atop the Twin Valley League don't have much room for error in order to secure a league title.

The top three teams in the standings met on Tuesday night in Centralia for key match-ups that would ultimately shake up the top of the standings moving forward.

Valley Heights entered the night as the back to back TVL champs and without a league loss while Hanover also entered the night with no losses in league play. Centralia was right there with just one league loss.

Centralia would move up to the top after beating both Hanover and Valley Heights. Centralia lost the first set against Hanover 17-25 but bounced back for the next two, winning 25-18 and 32-30 in a wild finish.

Hanover had multiple match points in the third set but Centralia had an answer every time and would finally get over the hump to get the important win.

Hanover bounced back and gave Valley Heights their first league loss in which the Wildcats lost the first set 21-25 but won the next two, 25-18 and 25-15.

The night ended with Centralia handing Valley Heights another league loss in straight sets, 25-23 and 25-18.

Elsewhere in the TVL on Tuesday night it was Frankfort hosting Linn and Blue Valley. Linn went 2-0 with straight set wins while Frankfort was able to knock off Blue Valley in three sets in what was a non-league contest.

Wetmore was hosting Axtell and Onaga. Wetmore defeated Onaga in three sets in a non-league contest and also got a straight sets win over Axtell which was a TVL contest. Onaga would defeat Axtell in straight sets in a non-league match-up.

Washington County was hosting a quad with Troy, Clifton Clyde, and Doniphan West. It was Doniphan West finishing the night 3-0 and all straight set victories. Washington County went 2-1 with Clifton Clyde going 1-2 and Troy going 0-3 on the night.
