Holton Blast Jeff West to Stay Undefeated

It was a dominating performance for the Wildcats on senior night as Holton had 452 yards on offense and grabbed four takeaways while holding Jeff West to just 122 total yards. Holton tossed four touchdown passes and built a 40-0 halftime lead before playing all JV and freshman players in the second half. 

Three touchdown passes were from Matt Lierz to Jake Zeller in the first half on plays of 7, 10 and 1 yard while Conner Collins scored the first touchdown and Jace Boswell added a rushing TD in the second quarter. The Wildcat defense had three picks on three straight Tiger drives and now have picked off 8 passes in the last three games. Lierz and Zeller each had an INT while Lucas Adcock grabbed an interception for the third game in a row. 

The Holton JV kept the shutout intact through the second half and got two rushing touchdowns from Jakari Washington while the final score came on a 60-yard pass from Eli Hallauer to Logan Peterson. No one carried the bal more than seven times as Gary Booth finished with a team high 79 yards and Caleb Hernandez had 62. 

Kaden Stones was 8-15 passing for 90 yards while Caleb Morse had 24 yards rushing on 10 carries for the Tigers who fell to 1-7 on the season. 

Holton, who won the Big 7 League title for the first time since 2014 and district championship as well, will start the 3A Playoffs on Thursday hosting Santa Fe Trail at 7:00 PM.
