Centralia Volleyball Punches Ticket to State Tournament
By Brandon Tadtman

The Centralia Panthers volleyball team continued its strong season as they punched their ticket to the 1A-D1 State Tournament in Dodge City next weekend.

Centralia had the top-seed and a bye into the semi-finals where they defeated Frankfort in straight sets, 25-17 and 25-15.

Doniphan West got straight set wins over Troy and Blue Valley to get into the Championship match with Centralia.

It was two very close sets but the Panthers picked up the straight sets sweep over the Mustangs, 29-27 and 29-27.

The Panthers will enter the State Tournament with a 35-5 overall record and will be the 3-seed in Dodge City behind Pretty Prairie and Little River.

Centralia will open up pool play on Friday at 8:30 AM against the 6-seed Spearville.
