Hiawatha Boys, Sabetha Girls Cross Country Qualify for 3A State Meet

The Hiawatha boys and Sabetha girls Cross Country teams both qualified for the 3A State Meet next Saturday in Wamego. 

The Sabetha girls finished 2nd behind West Franklin in the standings and posted three runners inside the top 10. 

Mary Lukert and Leah Lukert finished in 3rd and 4th respectively while Laura Metzger finished in 9th place. 

Nemaha Central finished 5th as a team while Royal Valley, Perry Lecompton, Hiawatha, Jeff West and Pleasant Ridge finished 8th-12th respectively. 

GIRLS RESULTS 

The Hiawatha boys qualified for the State Meet after finishing in 2nd place behind West Franklin in the standings. 

The Redhawks top runner was Camden Bachman who finished in 8th place. Felix McCartney also a top-15 finish as he finished in 13th place. 

Royal Valley and Sabetha finished 4th and 5th place in the team standings.
