JCN's Season Ends in Heartbreaking Fashion at 2A State Tournament
By Brandon Tadtman

The Jefferson County North volleyball season came to a close on Friday night in heartbreaking fashion as they lost to 2-seed Ellinwood in three sets to finish pool play 1-2.

The Eagles beat the Chargers 21-25, 25-21, 26-24 and due to the tiebreaker, Ellinwood was able to get into the Semi-Finals with a 1-2 pool play record.

Jefferson County North started the day with a straight sets loss to Garden Plain but followed that up with a three set victory over Maranatha before falling in the final match to Ellinwood.

It was the third consecutive trip for JCN to the State Tournament and they will finish the 2021 season as NEKL champs and finish with an overall record of 34-9.
