Latest Rankings Out from the KBCA as Sub-State Looms

The Kansas Basketball Coaches Association have released their latest rankings as we're down to the second to last week of the regular season. 

We'll start in the girls rankings for this week as Nemaha Central remains at #10 in Class 3A. The Thunder have won five straight and are in position to potentially win their fifth straight Big 7 league title. 

Valley Heights remains at #3 in Class 2A as they're 16-2 with their only two losses coming against Centralia. Jackson Heights holds true at #5 as the Cobras are 16-1 with their lone loss against Hiawatha in their midseason tournament. 

Centralia remains at #2 in Class 1A-I at 17-0 as they're coming off a win on Tuesday night against Blue Valley. They'll play a non-league game against Marysville on Thursday and then will be back in TVL play on Friday against Clifton Clyde. 

Hanover also remains in the same spot as last week at #5 as the Wildcats are 15-4 and down to their last game of the regular season on Friday against Troy. 

In the boys rankings this week, Royal Valley drops out of the top spot after taking their first loss of the season against Holton. The Panthers are #4 this week at 17-1 and control their own destiny to win their third straight Big 7 league crown. 

Nemaha Central fell to #10 as they were tied for fourth the last couple of weeks with Galena. The Thunder picked up a big win on Tuesday night against Jefferson West as they're 15-3 and will travel to Holton on Friday night. 

The Dragons of Valley Falls have clinched the NEKL title as they won a huge game in overtime on Tuesday at Pleasant Ridge 72-70. They move are 17-0 and hold serve at #3 in Class 2A behind only Hillsboro and St. Mary's. 

Clifton Clyde ranks ninth in Class 1A-I and will play at Centralia on Friday and Hanover remains the top ranked team in Class 1A-II and control their destiny in winning another TVL title.
