By Brandon Tadtman

1A-I Sub-State Girls Semi-Finals from Frankfort on Friday night.

Centralia 53, Troy 24

This game was a tale of two halves with the first half staying close between these TVL foes and the second half being the complete opposite.

The score was 12-7 late in the first quarter when Centralia's Abbie Flentie nailed a three at the buzzer to give the Panthers a 15-7 lead at the end of the quarter.

Troy battled back in the second quarter and outscored the Panthers by two to trail 23-17 at halftime.

Centralia changed the game quickly in the third quarter as the Panthers scored the first 18 points and outscored the Trojans 22-5 in the quarter to put the game away.

Senior Avery Deters was dominate with 16 points and 14 rebounds while hitting six of her eight free throw attempts. Freshman Oen Deters and junior Lena Haverkamp each added nine while Flentie chipped in with seven.

The Panthers forced the Trojans into 31 turnovers and they also had the rebound advantage at 33-17.

Troy was led by Paityn Engemann with eight points while Reagan Hill added six as the Trojans season ends with a record of 9-13.

Doniphan West 38, Frankfort 41

Frankfort would have the edge at 12-8 at the end of the first quarter and would extend that lead to 25-18 at halftime.

Doniphan West would battle back in the second half as they would trail by six going into the fourth quarter.

It was a one possession game in the final few minutes with Frankfort's Emma Hardwick hitting four crucial free throws down the stretch to keep the lead for the Wildcats at three on multiple occasions.

Doniphan West would have a shot with 10 seconds left with the ball as Claire Cole had a look from three for the tie but it fell short off the front rim and the time would run out as Frankfort was able to hang on for the win.

Hattie Gros led Frankfort with 15 points while Hardwick added 14 points. Doniphan West was led by Malaina Whetstine with 10 points while Cole added eight and Jaidyn Taylor pitched in with seven.

Doniphan West's season with loss ends with a record of 15-6.

(21-0) Centralia and (15-7) Frankfort will square off Saturday night in Frankfort with a trip to the 1A-I State Tournament on the line.
