We recognize Riley County standout Tanner Rhoton as one of our Athletes of the Week — and it’s easy to see why.

Tanner has been nothing short of dominant this season, establishing himself as arguably the top wrestler in the Big East and one of the very best in the entire state. Competing at 113 pounds, he captured the 3-2-1A Regional Championship this past weekend, improving his record to a flawless 39-0 heading into the State Tournament.

He has held the #1 ranking at 113 in 3-2-1A all season long and currently sits as the #3 ranked wrestler in the weight class across all classifications — a testament to just how elite he has been on the mat.

Even more impressive, Tanner carries a career record of 110-8, showcasing sustained excellence and consistency throughout his high school career.

With momentum, confidence, and an undefeated record heading into state, Tanner Rhoton is more than deserving of Athlete of the Week honors.
