Axtell Boys Track

The Axtell boys track team captured their fourth straight Class 1A State Title over the weekend down in Wichita. 

The Eagles finished the meet with 67 points while second place Cunningham finished with 46 points while third place Little River finished with 36 points. 

Axtell got gold medals from Landon Schmitz in the 110m hurdles and Logan Sandmann in the high jump. They added bronze medals from Wyatt Detweiler in the 110m hurdles and Clayton Heinen in the triple jump. 

The 4x400m relay team won the gold medal while the 4x100m and 4x800m relay teams picked up silver medals. 

Detweiler added a fourth place finish in the 300m hurdles, Schmitz added a fifth place finish 200m dash, Joe Lybarger finished 10th in the triple jump, Heinen finished 11th in the 400m dash, and Lucas Talbot finished 13th in the 400m dash.
