McCauley Stacking Wins Across Multiple Events on the Track
Reese McCauley

Doniphan West sophomore Reese McCauley continues to prove she’s one of the area’s most versatile and dominant track athletes, earning this week’s Athlete of the Week honors.

McCauley delivered a standout performance at the Hiawatha Meet, claiming first place in four events—the 100m hurdles, 200m dash, high jump, and long jump—to lead the Mustangs to the team title.

Her success last week is nothing new. This season alone, McCauley has piled up victories across multiple meets, finishing first in the 100m hurdles and 300m hurdles at three meets each, while also taking top honors in the high jump and long jump twice apiece.

As impressive as this season has been, McCauley is building on an already decorated résumé. As a freshman, she was a Regional Champion in the 100m hurdles, 300m hurdles, and high jump. She carried that momentum to the state stage, placing third in the 300m hurdles, fourth in the 100m hurdles, and eighth in the high jump.

McCauley also holds the school record in the 300m hurdles and was a key member of the 4x400m relay team that placed seventh at state last season, setting a school record in the process.

With her ability to excel across events and consistently deliver top finishes, McCauley is putting together another remarkable season—and she’s far from finished.
